Indian Land Middle School9

Indian Land, SC | Lancaster County

The school is overall a good school. The new principal is very involved and is moving the school in the right direction. However, I am so disappointed with the athletic programs...mainly football. The athletic director is not the best person for the job. There is so much athletic talent in the school but the coaching is the worst that I've ever seen. If you are considering moving your child to this school....good choice. But if you are are looking for a good (it's not even good) athletic program....DO NOT bring your child here....you will regret it!!! Athletic directors should not be coaches....recipe for disaster). The head coach has been so disappointing over the years. A few of the coaches are rec center coaches....go figure! Don't even think it will get better in high school...the profanity is outrageous!!

We have children at all of the Indian Land Schools, and have lived in the Carolina's for a little over a year now. Indian Land Middle School is fantastic in how it relates to the kids and parents. The Principal is very responsive, as are all the teachers we've had an opportunity to interact with. They have a terrific band program, and have started a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) program this year, which will continue to be built upon in the years to come. My daughter loves it! We would definitely recommend Indian Land Middle School. A quick word for anyone coming from out of state; Indian Land Elementary and Middle Schools do have a dress code/uniform. The High School does not. In South Carolina, 6th graders may NOT play middle school sports. Lastly, the public school bus program in the state of SC is the only one in the fifty states that is state run. There is little the individual school districts can do to improve upon how the system functions, and quite frankly it is overcrowded and inconsistent. I can only encourage the SC State Legislature to privatize the bus system.

I give this school a 0. My daughter attends this school and we have had several incidents already. Staff is extremly rude, nfriendly and very unfair to the students. Honestly dont take matters seriously. Children are extremly violent. Honstly my daughter does not feel safe at this school due to the severe incidents shes had there. And as a parent am very concerened about her safety there. Looking to find another school in the area.

I have a daughter in Indian Land Middle and I am very happy with this school. I tend to over-communicate and the teachers, principal and asst principal have all been supportive. I believe that as long as we set our expectations with the teachers from the beginning, we would get the support we need from them to make sure our children get the follow through they need at home. I love the fact that they celebrate the students' achievements and commend their hard work by publishing their names in the paper. It's an additional incentive for my daughter to strive harder. I personally like the core values that they try to teach to every student. Children at this stage needs discipline that goes hand in hand with academics otherwise we would have utter chaos. To those looking to relocate, I urge you to go to the school, do your homework.

This school is great. Now that the Principal can focus on one campus there have been some great changes. The teachers work hard for the kids, there are tons of new programs and ideas coming on board all the time. There really seems to be a group of folks listening to our needs as parents. To the person who was negative about the school, what did you do to help it? To those looking to relocate to the school, I would encourage you to do so! IL is moving and going great.

This school is a joke! The staff is rude, not friendly whats so ever. The Principal seems okay but when you bring a problem to his attention nothings ever done. The Asst. principal is so unfriendly and rude no perfessionalism. The teachers treat the students like their in boot camp and if a problem arises or a child needs help that's the kids problem not theirs. I hope the housing market gets better as soon as my house sells 'We're outta here' My kids are good kids and do well in school and this school is stressing us out. If I knew then what I know now We never would've moved to this school district.
